If a career change is not a good option at the moment, maybe you can look at making good use of your skills and acquired knowledge in a different way. Why not put your years of expertise in writing and market that knowledge within your career community. All that knowledge that you are trying to market by selling your services to an employer for a job can be just as easily put into a report, book or newsletter and marketed instead of a CV or Resume.
